About
In June 2011, Kasandra Easley graduated with a bachelor of science in Magazine Journalism from the University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication. Throughout her college years, she produced work for three award-winning campus publications: Ethos Magazine, the Oregon Daily Emerald, and Flux Magazine.
She treasures rich story telling and is passionate about the role journalists play when documenting life, as it happens, around us.
While Kasandra prefers working with print journalism, she has produced multimedia stories and is eager to learn more about the world of digital media. She has found that each medium provides a unique platform to tell stories, and challenges herself to craft a complete package full of text, photos and video.
Kasandra spent two years as the public relations officer for her university’s sailing team – writing blurbs for newsletters, communicating with alumni and potential members, and planning events.
After college graduation, she spent six months interning in the public affairs department at the Eugene Water & Electric Board, the largest citizen-owned utility in Oregon that serves over 85,000. While there, she wrote and edited press releases, developed a social media plan, and redesigned the utility’s Twitter page.
Each experience in the many fields of the journalism industry has reinforced her love for the art. Open to the endless possibilities that abound, she is enthusiastic for the many adventures that lie ahead.
When she’s not crafting a story, you can find her hanging out with friends and family, reading, and sailing.
